God's Study ©
This is a new and popular idea. God has just left his study for ten minutes and all his personal papers and notes are there for us to see. I customise this painting to include details of the life and times of whoever is to receive the painting.

Easy God is painted in orange, and is the God we pray to when we need a quick fix and we need answers.

This is Mary, Queen of Heaven, after the age of 70. Beautifully turned out, with a radiant smile, and with her bus pass and pension.

Adam & Eve Diptych, Before
This is a very sassy Eve who doesn't need any apples to open her eyes. Adam does, however. Both Adam and Eve are very satisfyingly average shapes.

Eve is facing the consequence of eating the apple and is not distressed, just stunned. Adam is hiding behind a tree and looking very nervous.

Painted for a lovely bedroom in Tucson Arizona, using the blues and pale creams and yellows of the decor

Annunciation Diptych
The Angel Gabriel has been asked to practice his Announcing Techniques on some local teenagers, before he gets to Mary. Here is met with a typical response from some local girls which highlights the difficulty of his task. He appears to need the practice himself. Based on my children Costya and Alexia and friend Katriona, all of whom model for me often.

Here is a shy angel with a blue background peeping around the corner of the painting. Then a Stubborn Angel against a green background, folding her arms and refusing to budge, and lastly a Tired Angel, against an orange background leaning onto the frame for support.

The Male Madonna
If one changes to gender of the holder of the Baby Jesus, what do we get? This is a celebration of the wonder of Fathers and Fatherhood.

Annunciation-What, Her?
The Angel Gabriel goes to Announce to Mary, who is only about 13 and a teenager. When he gets there, she is just like any other teenager and Gabriel is just checking with God, "What? Her?" Oil on wood, 7"x 9"

I asked my daughter and her friend, then 13 years old, the supposed age of the Virgin Mary, to pose for an Annunciation. This is how they did it, full of fun and friendship. So I painted them just as they were.
